Commissioner applauds Gov Bello over Ankpa Modern Market Project, others
The Kogi State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Alhaji Sanusi Usman has described Governor Yahaya Bello as a man that is committed to bringing development to the doorsteps of every citizen of the State.
Speaking to the people of the area against the backdrop of the recent approval by the state executive council for the construction of Ankpa Modern Market, the commissioner said it showed that the Governor has the love of his people at heart.
He further reminded the people of the area, while addressing them that the Governor Bellow during the recent visitation to all tertiary institutions in the state, prevailed on the contractor handling Ankpa township to return to site and increase pace of work.
According to the Commissioner, the approval for the Modern Market in Ankpa is a demonstration of the commitment of the present administration in Kogi State to open up the area to commercial activities and opening of new vista towards industrialisation.
He said when completed in addition to the road project, socioeconomic activities would open up in Ankpa and create oportunities for the people of the area.
To him, there is no administration that has shown so much commitment to improving the physical landscape and social situations of Ankpa people like the present government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, hence the need for them to support its policies and programmes.
The commissioner while calling on the people of the area to give their unalloyed support to the government, urged them to remain law-abiding so as to attract more dividends of democracy.
He says: "The Governor has matched his words with action by telling the contractor handling the road project in Ankpa township to improve on his job delivery and ensure in increased pace on it.
"The project, if completed, with the Ankpa Modern Market Project that was also approved by the State Executive Council, it would attract a lot of commercial interests from investors and other businesses would also come here and they would create many opportunities such employment for our teeming unemployed, social activities and attract other development needed for the area.
"There is therefore no alternative than for the people to appreciate the Governor and his government and be loyal to him in order to encourage such dividends of democracy to Ankpa Local Government as a whole," he concluded.
