Dino runs to Saraki, begs him to intervene in the standoff between him and Sahara Reporter
By Yabagi Mohammed.
The last may not have been heard about the ongoing face off between the online mews media, Sahara Reporters and the Senator representing Kogi West at the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye.
The latest on the matter, as gathered by Inside Story, is that Dino, scared that the online medium may have had him by the neck, has appealed to the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, to intervene on his behalf.
Saraki is a known political ally of the Senate President, and has stood by the controversial Saraki, through all the ordeals he has continued to go through in his reign as the number three citizen of the county.
Sources close to the Kogi Senator, reliably informed our news desk that Senator Melaye sees the latest leak of his telephone conversation, where he made a call to the son of former Governorship candidate in the state, Mohammed Audu, boasting about how he framed politicians in the state about the recent hoax of attack by gunmen in his country home.
To Dino, the source added, it is about reciprocity for all the public support he has shown to the head of the Nigerian Senate, fearing that without his support, the latest media onslaught by the organization might sink him politically.
The Senate president is however not keen to get involved in the saga as he is having his own personal political battle, and hopes are thin that he would offer any kind of support to his friend's plight.
According to inside sources also, for the first time, Senator Melaye seem shaken because the outfit seem hellbent on revealing all of his shady deals, an action that could lead to his disastrous end of a seemingly burgeoning political career.
In the said audio, he was heard telling Mohammed Audu, how he has it all planned to rope the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Edward Onoja and others, with Mohammed particularly emphasizing that he is keen about framing Onoja in the charade.
The political drama in Kogi State has recently gotten feisty with Dino doing all he can to bring anyone close to Governor Bello to their kneels due to a falling they are having.
Recall that Dino had a heated debate with his predecessor in the Senate, Smart Adeyemi over the recently released audio tape by Sahara Reporters, in which Dino was heard discussing how bribes were exchanged between him and the tribunal chairman that oversaw their election case at the tribunal.
